Where Could I Buy a Bichon Frise Puppy From?

My parents said I could get a dog but living in PA where puppy mills are on every corner I don’t know where to go. I checked the Rescue centers yesterday and they just don’t have the dog I’m looking for since my parents have allergies. Has anyone every owned a bichon frise since it was a puppy and where did you get it from?

I second Marci’s answer about finding a reputable breeder-
you could also see what the rescue has:

You might also consider a Shih Tzu or a Lhasa Apso – I have had both of those, and work with some Bichons, and they are all great dogs. Same thing with a Mini Poodle.

Every breed should have a breed rescue – just google the breed name, "rescue" and "Pennsylvania" – it should come up. The breed rescues know their dogs well, and will work hard to match up a dog with the rght owners. It’s much better than taking pot shots at finding a puppy, and you will be saving the life of a deserving dog.
